MY PHILOSOPHY OF TEACHING

In my view, education is the gradual process of acquiring knowledge. It is a preparation for life.It thus focuses on the cultivation of skills, trades or professions, as well as mental, moral &aesthetic development. It is to develop the knowledge, skill, or ability of students. The only purpose of education is to teach a student how to live his life-by developing his mind and equipping him to deal with reality. Education is the up bringing of good characters and it changes the total attitude of students towards life.
A teacher brings a pupil from darkness to light.From my childhood onwards, my ambition was to become a teacher.I will be a patient,impartial,inspiring teacher.I will
motivate my students by encouragement,activities and by giving the essence of my subject.To me,energy is one of the important factors for a teacher.Not only that, teacher must pass her energy to her students.I have a teacher at high school, her name is Elsamma.She was an embodiment of energy power.She is my ideal teacher.When I will become a teacher I wish to be like her.A teacher with energy,intelligence,motivating power,creativity and above all wide knowledge about her subject.
According to Eric Hoffer, “The central task of education is to implant a
will and facility for learning; it should produce not learned but learning people. The truly human society is a learning society, where grandparents, parents, and children are students together”. Each child is an adventure into a better life --an opportunity to change the old pattern and make it new.Children are always the only future the human race has.
Education makes a person perfect.Education plays a crucial role in developing the personality of an individual.The student - teacher relationship must be more powerful.Education must not be spoon fed.It should be a give and take process..I.T.education has to be improved more. This makes students to become self motivated. Only those students who are self motivated can follow progressive techniques. Education should not be job oriented.Education should not be compressed with in the class room.This can be extended into the surroundings Since it is a competative world,survival of the best could come in practice.In general, education is the key to success in life. The aim of education should be to teach us rather how to think, than what to think.It is to improve our minds, so as to enable us to think for
ourselves.Education should be more student and activity oriented. A teacher should be only a guide to children but not a person whom students can believe blindly. We can hope for an independent,self motivated,committed society It is the basic goal of each individual.Through proper education,hope it will become a reality without much delay.
